Bathroom Garden

installation artist, sound designer

I created this multi-sensory experience that transformed a bathroom into a nature retreat through sound, light, texture, and scent.

The installation was centered around a soundscape of a rainy garden. I took advantage of the bathroom's natural reverberance with a ceiling-mounted speaker, causing the soundscape to cascade and envelop visitors in a three-dimensional environment.

A rotating green light created ever-shifting dappled patterns reminiscent of sunlight filtering through leaves and the space was filled with flora and fauna which released subtle natural aromas. A grass-textured rug also created a physical boundary that enhanced the experience.

The installation enmeshed participants in a lush environment, offering a contrast to the sterile, sonically punctuated experience of modern bathrooms.
